A Pictorial/Tutorial Side-Step Card

Hello Friends!

Today I am going to show how to do a Side-Step Card. This will be a long Post...Just giving a heads up!

First get your supplies together:

You will need a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Cardstock (Early Espresso used here)
A Paper Cutter
Additional Cardstock and Embellishments to decorate your card
And a 'Medium Size' Envelope

In the 'Portrait' position...line up your piece of Cardstock at 3".
Starting down at the 1" mark on the cutter part,
cut down to the 7 1/2" mark.

(sorry, took this pic after the fact)

Turn the piece around to the 'Landscape' position and
on the 2 1/2" side, Score @ 4 1/4".
Turn 180* and on the 3" side
Score @ 1", 2", 3 1/4", 4 1/2", and 6".

Pinch the 4 1/4" fold across.

Then fold the first Score line down (mountain fold), and the next score
line up (valley fold). Do this to each scored line, till your 'steps' are formed.
They will be 'graduated' in size.

Here is what it looks like folded.

Now 'burnish' all your folds, both sides, with your 'Bone Folder'.

Here is the card standing on it's own, all folds burnished.

Cut Mats, Neutrals, and DSP, to fit the card areas.
All Sizes at the Bottom of this Post.

The two top pieces are for the inside left of the cards.
From here on there will be two cards made.
One has a solid bottom trim all the way across the bottom front of the card. The other card has a divided bottom on the bottom front.
You can make your card either way.
It is totally up to you which you choose.
Strictly your taste.
I did one each way as an example to see what they look like.

The Sentiment was stamped on the large piece, matted it and attached to the inside of the card. I then saw that I needed to fill the space to the right...you can write a short note on the large and carry over to the smaller,
then sign the card on the right too!

Mats and DSP were measured and cut for the Front of the Card.
Adhered them together and then adhered to the Card Front.

Here are the Cards, now ready for Embellishing!

For BOTH Cards, I used the same style of decoration.
Again, I am showing the Cards and the only difference is the
solid bottom of the divided bottom.

Here is the Divided Bottom, finished

Here is the Divided with it's 'Medium Size' Envelope.
Stamped Flap and lower Left Front. I stamped the
Pine Boughs in 'Mint Macaron' and the Pine Cone
in 'Early Espresso' Classic Stampin' Inks.

Here is the finished Solid Bottom.

Here is the Solid Bottom Front Card done, with
it's 'Medium Size' Envelope, stamped on the flap
and the lower left hand side of the envelope.
Again the Pine Boughs were stamped in 'Mint Macaron'
and the Pine Cones stamped in 'Early Espresso'
Classic Stampin' Inks.

You choose which you prefer and decorate as you want!
I thought I would show you the difference so you
could see for yourself what it would look like!
